Thermo-mechanical analysis of hydrogen permeation in lubricated rubbing contacts

چکیده

Exploring the fundamental mechanisms of hydrogen generation from a lubricated rubbing contact is critical step to mitigate premature failure mechanical elements. This work employs an in-situ uptake technique and molecular dynamics simulations study thermo-mechanical effects on in contacts. The measured AISI 52100 bearing steel at temperature 27 ◦C 85 under applied pressure 140 kPa 350 kPa. Experimental measurements are modeled through atomic using reactive force field potential. associated with Poly Alpha Olefin decomposition studied calculating pair distribution function. Findings demonstrate enhancing hydrocarbon increasing pressure, while required for process ambient temperature. lubricant degradation reduced highlights incorporation design development
